Over 100 Cats Hoarded In Lorain Home

You may have read these stories, or heard about them on television
or radio. The media reported these cases of animal abuse and neglect
in recent weeks, shining a spotlight on the darker side of human
behavior and the consequences it brings to our animal fiends.

Unfortunately, these cases are not isolated incidents. Cats are
thrown out, left behind, shot at and tortured. Dogs are cruelly chained
with no food, water or shelter. Some are forced to fight for money
then are dumped when they are no longer useful.

The Lorain City Police, County Sheriff’s Department and Animal
Control investigate man cases of animal abuse and neglect each
year. Many of the seized animals are brought to the Lorain Animal
Clinic for evaluation and treatment.

The Wood Foundation has been established to protect, and provide
medical care for, abused and neglected pets. We are in the process of
becoming a member of The Community Foundation of Greater Lorain
County. This fund is a recognized charity, which means contributions
are fully tax deductible.

I have pledged my own contribution of $10,000 to match the first
$10,000 in donations to The Wood Foundation. Please consider a
donation of $100 or more. Your support will help us to meet our goal.

Sincerely,

Dr. Thomas Wood
President
